Dave Webber and Anni Fentiman's enthusiasm sparkles in their powerful vocal performances which have developed from their involvement in traditional and traditional-style music for over 25 years. Their first love is accappella singing, both solo and harmony, and they acknowledge the debt of gratitude that is owed to source and early revival singers who have helped to keep alive this wonderful singing style. They present a varied cross section of material from the delicate solo to the rousing chorus. Anni's intuitive harmony adds colour and depth whilst her solo performance is clear and sensitive. Dave sings with a rich and powerful style. His love of this music is clear in his performance, from the gentle and plaintive traditional ballad to the stirring chorus song which inspires even the most reticent audience to join in. Dave is a song writer of note with many of his better known songs often assumed to be traditional. As well as their work in the UK, they have regularly delighted audiences on both east and west coasts of America since 1990.
Johnny Collins,
a native of the Norfolk now based in London, is a well travelled performer specialising in the singing of sea songs and
maritime ballads. An internationally acclaimed performer and recording artist, he has organised Folk clubs and topped the
bill in concerts around the world since the mid-fifties: his vigorous style and his supreme ability to persuade audiences
to join
in choruses is unrivalled. Johnny is a familiar and welcome figure at many of the world's foremost maritime venues and
festivals, and has guested in the U.S.A. at Maine Maritime Museum, Kendall Whaling Museum and Newport News
Maritime Museum. He has also delighted audiences with several concert appearances at Mystic Seaport (U.S.A.) and
was resident shantyman at Expo '88 in Brisbane, Australia. He also sings regularly in the Netherlands, Belgium, Brittany,
Germany, Holland, Poland and France.
The Wilson Family, "a vocal orchestra" from Teesside, comprise of Pat and her brothers Chris, Ken, Mike, Tom
and Steve. It's a delight to share their company and their love of life. They've been described as "a wall of sound" and
"the foremost harmony group entertaining folk audiences". Dick Gaughan summed them up well - "There's a musical
honesty about them that links past and present together. They are what they are and do what they do and say what they
say and it's very direct and I love that. They're not pretenders."
