Bob Fox
sings and plays with the ease and confidence of one who knows he is at the very top of his
trade. He has been performing around the folk scene for more than 30 years and is equally
at home in the intimate setting of a folk club or entertaining the multitudes on a floodlit
stage either at Cropredy with Fairport Convention or with his own band, The Hush. Like a
good wine, he just keeps getting better. This is reflected in the accolades he receives - "one of the great voices"
(Living Tradition), "superior singer" (Folk Roots),
"musicianship second to none" (Vin Garbutt), and "an artist of great ability and
integrity" (Ralph McTell).
Tom McConville is one of the finest fiddle players in the British Isles and an excellent
singer. His repertoire is firmly rooted in the music of the north-east but with strong
Scottish and Irish influences. However his delivery is unique. His technical ability,
distinctive style and dry Geordie humour have made him one of the most popular figures
on the folk scene since he turned professional in 1971. In the mid seventies he joined
forces with Bob Fox in a highly successful and enduring duo. They toured together until
the early eighties and have been firm friends ever since.
Benny Graham
has a voice that is second to none and is an accomplished melodeon player.
Like Bob and Tom he served his apprenticeship in the folk song clubs of the north-east in
the early 70s. He has worked as a solo performer and with the three-part acappella harmony
band Peg Leg Ferret. He is also a songwriter, actor, stage manager and he was the founder
of the Tyneside Maritime Chorus. He has toured with a number of themed shows including
"How Are You Off for Coals" which he did with Bob, and "They're Coming Back to the Water"
which he currently does with Bob and Johnny Handle.
